Why Don’t Diets Work!

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

You would have heard this many times that most diets don’t work and the fact is that this is true.

Many people will start on a diet but the percentage that will succeed and achieve the weight loss that they desire will only be small compared to those who fail.

And when they fail, many people will try again or change to another diet in the hope that the next diet will work. As stated many times, most diets are too hard to keep up and people become discouraged and give up.

One of the problems that face people who are on a diet is the fact that they are constantly thinking about food. It is on their mind all the time because they are on a diet. They talk about it to others, they tell everyone they are on a diet and food becomes the main focus of their thoughts throughout the day.

Does this sound like you?

When you start a diet, the first thing you have to start dealing with in most cases is hunger. That is something that is too hard for most people to endure and for this reason most diets fail.

No one wants to starve and it is only human nature to do everything we can to ensure we get sufficient food so that we won’t starve.

If you are trying to maintain a diet that constantly leaves you feeling hungry all the time, then you are most likely destined to failure. It’s just too difficult and life wasn’t meant to be that hard.

The outcome for most people after having to endure this period of hardship is to get back onto the ‘eating too much’ bandwagon and pile the weight back on that has been lost on the diet, albeit at a far faster rate.

So, that weight that you might have struggled to lose over a period of months, will go back on in weeks leaving you feeling more disappointed than you would have been had you never dieted in the first place. Just keep cutting back on your portions a little at a time and you will be surprised!

Fitness Is A Lifetime Investment!

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

The time we put into our fitness at any time throughout our life is an investment in our future. Just as we try to build up our financial wealth, we should be doing the same with our health, as this will determine the quality of life as we age.

Consider the compound effect that smoking can have over the lifetime of a smoker and how detrimental it can be to their health. The opposite effect occurs when we do any form of fitness training even if it is only for a few minutes a day, or for short periods a few times a week.

We don’t have to do hours of long intensive weight training 7 days a week to get fit. To lose weight we don’t need to go on strict diets that are too hard to maintain.

It takes a long time for most people to get fat and this usually occurs from eating just a little too much of the wrong foods too often.

If we were to reverse that situation and reduce our calories only by 100 per day, which is something that most people can achieve without too much difficulty, then the effect after a year or so can be quite dramatic.

If we were to walk for twenty minutes, three or four times a week, we would be a lot healthier after a year of such easy exercise.

All these small changes won’t encroach on our lifestyle to any extent but they can make the difference between normal activity when we age and the inability to get the most out of life.

The sooner we start to make these changes in our health, the more we are investing in our future. One of the best things about easy fitness like this is the fact that it gets even easier the more we do it. Just do it!

The BodyBot delivers high-velocity weight-loss results in as few as 4 minutes a day. I’m serious…

Difficult Dieting

Friday, October 16th, 2009

The problem with anything that is too difficult in our busy lifestyles is the fact that eventually we will stop doing what we perceive to be too hard and look for alternatives that are easier.

It’s not that we are inclined to give up when the going gets tough; It is because there are generally easier alternatives these days due to the advances that have been made over the years and in particular with weight loss, there have been many advances in both nutrition and fitness training.

Unfortunately, most diets are just too difficult for people to maintain for any length of time and that is why the failure rate is so high.

Where there are two alternatives for you to lose weight, (provided of course they are genuine weight loss opportunities), then you should generally look towards the easier option as this will be the one that you will be able to continue using long enough to get your desired results.

You should not feel as though you are on a diet because that in itself often means you are working hard to achieve something.

Just the word diet in itself instantly strikes fear into the minds of many people because so many times in the past they have tried various different diets and not had any long term success.

You should think more in terms of making small adjustments to your lifestyle as this is a better alternative than to think you are on a ‘diet’.

For many people, ‘dieting’ is rejected in their minds eye as being something unpleasant that is hard to endure. Improving your nutrition and fitness is not nearly as difficult to maintain as ‘dieting’.

Focus on lifestyle changes rather than a reduction in food and you won’t feel like you are having to give something up that you probably enjoy.
