How Many Calories do I Need if I Want to Lose Weight?

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

How many calories should you be eating? If you want to lose weight, you should be at least thinking about the number of calories that you take in every day. If you are not taking in enough, your body might over-react and gain weight. If you’re taking in too many, you will never shed pounds. This article will tell you what you need to know to find a great balance.

If you’re attempting to lose some weight, going at it the wrong way can be bad for your health. You need to understand how to shed pounds in a healthy way or you might end up heavier than you started as. Don’t you want to know how many calories you need everyday to really lose the weight?

Well, the answer to that is not definite. In order to lose anything, you need to burn off more calories than you take in every day. A great way to help do this is to cut back on the number of calories that you eat and do the dreaded ‘E’ word daily. Of course, I’m talking about exercise.

To know how many calories you should eat, you have to understand that taking in 3,500 calories will add one whole pound to your body. So if you want to lose 2 pounds each week, you should start taking in 1000 calories less each day than you normally do since 1000 calories each day X 7 days = 2 lbs/week. Since the average woman eats about 2200-3000 calories each day, you could lower your caloric intake by 500 calories each day by making smarter and healthier food choices. Forget about the mayonnaise on your sandwich, and skip out on fast food! Then burn off another 500 calories with daily exercise. There are several simple exercise methods to do that.

The lower your caloric intake and the more that you burn off, the more weight you will start to get rid of. But if you cut down your caloric intake too much, you run the risk of affecting your metabolism in a negative way. For the average woman, taking in less than 1000 calories each day will slow down your metabolism to the point that your body will start taking more from your food, since it isn’t getting enough. This will actually lead to weight gain!

Another thing that you should consider is the amount of water that you drink. Water has absolutely no calories in it, but your body needs a lot of it if you are trying to lose weight. So try to drink at least 8 glasses of clean and cool water each and every day. You can drink more if you want to! The colder the water, the more calories you will burn!

So take the next step and start learning about the best methods to really lose weight quick! Now you know how many calories you need to be eating, so get out there and start eating healthy!

Natural Apple Cider Vinegar Weight Loss

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

The ability to lose weight naturally is a very desirable condition. Adopting an apple cider vinegar diet into your regimen is the ideal approach for weight loss that does not involve stimulants or diet pills. The plan is pretty straightforward and the results are absolutely stunning.

No one likes to carry extra pounds but few of us have the means to naturally rev up the metabolic rate while keeping cravings under control. There are some simple steps that dieters can take to ensure that they can drop weight naturally and with relatively little effort.

While the apple cider vinegar diet is not miracle cure, it is a viable resource for weight loss without suffering. The secret to the diet’s success is thought to lie in the combination of the vinegar’s acidic nature and the natural pectin found in apples. The combination serves as a means of getting the metabolism fueled and ready to burn.

One of the health benefits of apple cider vinegar is the product’s ability to lower cholesterol. Pectin is a key factor in reducing cholesterol in the body. While there is no scientific connection between the lowered cholesterol and weight loss, there does seem to be a correlation when it comes to this nectar.

The apple cider weight loss plan is simple to follow. There are no restricted menus and nothing is really off limits. However, dieters do have to practice restraint when it comes to snack foods and their meals have to be in sensible proportions. Of course, water is on the top of the list of priorities.

Dieters just take between one and three teaspoons of the vinegar before each meal. This gives the supplement time to rev the metabolism while curbing the appetite. Beginners should start with just one teaspoon before each meal and gradually work their way to three teaspoons.

Add a little light exercise into your daily routine and you have the makings of a simple weight loss plan that actually seems too good to be true. Following the plan is quite easy. All that is necessary is the capacity to remember to take the vinegar before each meal. If the nectar is too much for your stomach, you may want to opt for apple cider vinegar pills instead.

Weight loss is an ongoing process for many people who opt for fad diets and trendy weight reduction plans. The apple cider vinegar diet is ideal because it offers a natural weight loss remedy without a restrictive eating regimen.

The Problem With Yo-Yo Dieting.

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

It is very common for people who y0-yo diet, where they are constantly taking off weight and putting it back on again, in an endless emotional roller coaster to end up weighing more than if they had never dieted in the first place.

The reason for this is the body begins to change in an effort to maintain energy levels and by doing so, stores more fat.

This also causes the body to use less energy for all activities even when exercising and as a result, it becomes more and more difficult to lose weight. Even when you go on a similar diet to one you might have previously achieved some weight loss from,  it is likely that you won’t be able to lose the same amount of weight the next time around.

People who are constantly on y0-yo diets cause their metabolism to change to an extent where they require a bigger reduction in their calories than a normal person would to maintain their new weight due to the body’s new and reduced demand on energy.

This is linked to our evolution where food would often be scarce and the body adjusts accordingly to conserve and maintain its fat reserves when there is a shortage of food.

The downside of this happening,  is that after people go off these particular diets, they tend to put on more weight than they were before they started the diet.  In doing so, it becomes all the more difficult the next time to try and lose their additional weight.

So if you are the type of person who can’t stick to a particular program for any length of time, then you are better not starting at all. Just taking small steps by reducing portions of food, will have better results long-term and will be a lot easier to maintain.
