Does Quick Weight Loss Exist?

Friday, March 5th, 2010

With all of the processed and high fat food that we eat, it’s natural to one day begin looking for a way to lose extra weight. But, should you be looking around for a method of quick weight loss or are you just on a wild goose chase? Does a safe method of fast weight loss really exist? This article will tell you!

Fast food restaurants are popping up all over the place these days. It seems like everywhere you turn, there is a new way to eat saturated fat. With all of these unhealthy eating habits, it’s absolutely no wonder that many of us are looking for ways to lose weight as fast as we can. But, is realistic to think that we can get rid of years of unhealthy eating in just a few weeks? Does quick weight loss really exist, or is it just a dream?

Well, there can be several factors that go into being overweight. It isn’t always just what you eat. You also need to consider genetics and age – as we age, our metabolism slows down just like the other processes in our body. These are two factors that you might be able to attribute your weight problems to. If that’s the case, then quick weight loss will be very hard for you, unfortunately.

Otherwise, look at it this way – how long do you think it took you to put on your extra weight? Does it seem like you weighed 20 pounds less 10 years ago? If it took you 10 years to add the weight, do you really think that you can get rid of all of it very quickly?

Plus, you should consider the fact that being overweight does not necessarily make you unhealthy. Take a look at your overall life style and decide if you’re really happy with your body. If you do not feel unhealthy and you are only a few pounds overweight, you probably don’t really need to worry about a drastic weight loss program – you can probably just adjust your diet until you shed just a few pounds.

Here’s the truth – there is no REAL solution of quick weight loss that is safe and accepted by medical practitioners. That’s right! Besides surgery – which is expensive, risky and only used in drastic situations – there are no ways to get rid of 20 pounds in 10 days or whatever crazy amount that a crash diet might promise.

So, how CAN you lose weight?? The most effective and healthy way to shed weight is to adjust your diet so you eat less calories than you burn off each day. This is really quite simple, although it might seem hard considering the average diet these days. Just start eating more whole foods (fruits and vegetables) as well as high protein and low fat foods (such as fish or lean poultry). Then, exercise for at least 30 minutes about three to five times a week. Do this for a whole month and you will be amazed at the results! This is the fastest method ‘”quick weight loss” that you can do without putting your body at risk!

How Many Calories do I Need if I Want to Lose Weight?

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

How many calories should you be eating? If you want to lose weight, you should be at least thinking about the number of calories that you take in every day. If you are not taking in enough, your body might over-react and gain weight. If you’re taking in too many, you will never shed pounds. This article will tell you what you need to know to find a great balance.

If you’re attempting to lose some weight, going at it the wrong way can be bad for your health. You need to understand how to shed pounds in a healthy way or you might end up heavier than you started as. Don’t you want to know how many calories you need everyday to really lose the weight?

Well, the answer to that is not definite. In order to lose anything, you need to burn off more calories than you take in every day. A great way to help do this is to cut back on the number of calories that you eat and do the dreaded ‘E’ word daily. Of course, I’m talking about exercise.

To know how many calories you should eat, you have to understand that taking in 3,500 calories will add one whole pound to your body. So if you want to lose 2 pounds each week, you should start taking in 1000 calories less each day than you normally do since 1000 calories each day X 7 days = 2 lbs/week. Since the average woman eats about 2200-3000 calories each day, you could lower your caloric intake by 500 calories each day by making smarter and healthier food choices. Forget about the mayonnaise on your sandwich, and skip out on fast food! Then burn off another 500 calories with daily exercise. There are several simple exercise methods to do that.

The lower your caloric intake and the more that you burn off, the more weight you will start to get rid of. But if you cut down your caloric intake too much, you run the risk of affecting your metabolism in a negative way. For the average woman, taking in less than 1000 calories each day will slow down your metabolism to the point that your body will start taking more from your food, since it isn’t getting enough. This will actually lead to weight gain!

Another thing that you should consider is the amount of water that you drink. Water has absolutely no calories in it, but your body needs a lot of it if you are trying to lose weight. So try to drink at least 8 glasses of clean and cool water each and every day. You can drink more if you want to! The colder the water, the more calories you will burn!

So take the next step and start learning about the best methods to really lose weight quick! Now you know how many calories you need to be eating, so get out there and start eating healthy!

Start Drinking Water – Losing Weight The Healthy Way

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

It’s a fact that up to 70% of your body is water – depending on your age. It’s one of the most important resources for a number of reasons – mainly because you could not live without it. So it seems natural that your body craves water. If you are trying to shed some extra pounds, start by increasing your intake of  water. Losing weight, having more energy and feeling better about yourself are all natural side effects of drinking more water.

First of all, water is not just important in flushing your body of waste and toxins, but almost every process in your body is regulated and/or aided by water. The more water that you drink, the less likely you will overeat. That’s because water fills up empty space in your stomach and makes you feel nice and full. Here are some great tips to show you how you can add more water to your diet and see some great results.

1. Start Your Day With A Glass Of Water

As soon as you wake up, drink an entire glass of temperate water. This is important because you are almost always less hydrated than you should be when you wake up each morning. Plus, drinking a glass of water will make you feel like you need less to eat for breakfast. You will also be preparing your digestive juices for the new day. Some people can not leave their house without having a cup of juice or milk in the morning – that’s fine, but drink your water right after.

2. Drink A Glass Before Each Meal

It’s always a good idea to get in the habit of starting each meal by drinking water. Losing weight depends on your ability to control what you eat and drinking an entire glass before you start your meal ensures that there will be less room in your stomach to fill up with food. The result? You will feel more full even when you eat less.

3. Drink While You Eat Your Meal

Yes, that’s a second glass while you are having your meal. Drinking water while you eat is another way to ensure that you don’t feel like you need to eat as much to end up feeling full. Plus, once you have created a kind of routine of drinking water before and during each meal, it’s a great mechanism to ensure that you are drinking enough water.

4. Replace Soda With Water

Sweetened drinks are horrible for your health. Not only will the sugar add extra weight to your body, but it also rots out your teeth and decreases the efficiency of your brain. If you drink one can of carbonated soda each day, you could save yourself from 4500 calories each month if you switch to water!

That means, over the course of just one month without soda, you could lose over 1.25 pounds – you wouldn’t even have to exercise, just get rid of the soda.

Use these tips and soon you should see a great difference in the way you feel. It’s truly amazing, the positive effects of increasing your intake of drinking water. Losing weight means sacrifice, so throw out those nasty foods and start drinking more H2O every day!
