Fat Loss Programs – Do They Work?

Friday, August 27th, 2010

If you are struggling to get rid of weight, then maybe you should check out some fat loss programs. There are several effective programs out there that will set out exactly what you need to eat in order to get trim and fit. This article will give you a quick introduction to a few of them and tell you if you really need them.

There are all kinds of fat loss programs out on the market. When you want to lose weight, it’s almost impossible to sift through all of them. You want to make sure that you get something that is safe but also effective – especially since you will probably be spending some money in order to follow the plan.

The first plan that a lot of people look into is the Atkins Diet. It gained a lot of popularity several years ago. This diet is all about eating food that is high in protein. It also involves cutting out a lot of carbs. A lot of people like this diet because the guidelines don’t really do anything to restrict your intake of fat. Carbs are pretty easy to avoid – you just need to eat a lot of vegetables. Since you don’t need to worry about fat intake, you can also feel free to eat red meat as well. There are a few problems with this diet, however. You are encouraged to limit your intake of fruit, which can really have an impact on your energy levels if you depend on sucrose from fruits for a lot of your energy. You may also find that you are lacking fiber while you are following the Atkins Diet.

There is another diet called Choose to Lose which was developed by a certain Dr. Goor. This diet is all about cutting out fat from your diet. You are given a certain amount of fat that you can intake each day. Once you have eaten your allotted amount, you can have no more. This is a bit like another popular diet called ‘Weight Watchers’. This diet allows and encourages you to eat fruits and vegetables. Therefore, it may be a good choice for you if you want to steer clear of Atkins.

After you follow some fat loss programs for a while, you may decide that they really just aren’t for you. Luckily, there is an alternative. You can simply create your own healthy diet plan. You just need to start thinking hard about what you are eating. You can try to think of foods to eat that are low in fat and high in nutritional value. These are foods like lean meat and poultry. Try taking bacon out of your diet and adding in turkey bacon. Or you could try switching over to turkey meat for you burgers. It tastes almost exactly the same but has less than half of the fat and more nutritional value than red meat.

There is no reason why you can’t start your own fat loss program right now – start today. It just takes some careful planning and a lot of motivation. If you start eating healthier today, you could be a ‘new you’ in a matter of months!

Losing Vanity Weight the Healthy Way

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

It’s true that obesity is practically an epidemic in the United States, and the number of overweight people around the world continues to grow. However, there are many people that are not horribly overweight – they often struggle to just lose vanity weight. The good news is that losing a small amount of weight doesn’t have to be too difficult. Here are a few things that you can do when you just need to lose a few pounds.

You can start by closely watching  what you eat. There are a lot of little things that you can do to take in fewer calories.

You can start by eating breakfast – studies show that people who eat a healthy breakfast actually can and will lose weight. That’s because eating something in the morning wakes up your metabolism and gets your body burning energy more efficiently. Plus, if you eat something early in the morning, you won’t eat as much during lunch.

You should also try to be careful about snacking. A great way to lose a few pounds is to throw out all of the candy and junk food in your house. You could give up drinking soda as well. If you eat junk food and drink one can of carbonated soda each day, you could be adding as many as 500 meaningless calories or more to your diet every day. It only takes 3500 calories to add one pound of weight. That means that cutting out candy and soda could help you lose about one pound every week, a great way to lose vanity weight.

The next thing that you should try is exercise. A lot of people who are just a few pounds overweight could be in great shape if they exercised regularly. Your workout doesn’t have to be a big deal – you can just hit the gym at least three times each week. You will have even better results if you try to get to the gym five times each week. While you’re there, you should do some cardiovascular exercises like riding the exercise bike or using the elliptical for at least 20 minutes. That will get your heart rate up – this sends extra blood to your brain and gives your heart a workout which is great. Once your heart is worked up, you will really be burning some calories. You can also lift some weights to lose extra pounds.

You should supplement your diet and exercise with a lot of water. Drinking more water is a great way to ensure that the processes inside your body are working properly as it is kind of a natural lubricant that keeps your insides clean. Drinking a full glass of water before each meal is a great way to cut back on the amount of food that you eat. Try to drink at least eight glasses everyday – that’s about 4 bottles or water.

If you stick to these tips, it should not be too hard to lose vanity weight. It can be pretty hard to stick to a plan when you are only trying to lose a few pounds – since you feel like you are already in good shape. But, just remember that there is always more that you could do to help your body work better and be healthier.

Turbulence Training Review

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Turbulence Training is a program created by Craig Galantine, who is a ‘Men’s Health’ Magazine Expert and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. The plan is designed to enable you to loose fat and gain muscle without cardio and it uses three short but intense workouts per week. The plans keep changing in order to keep your body from adapting to a fixed routine and these changes work to stimulate rapid muscle growth.

Research has shown that high-intensity interval training (often called HIIT) combined with lifting heavier weights for fewer reps, is a better and more efficient way to build muscle and lose fat than lengthy cardio exercises, longer repetitions and training with lighter weights. The Turbulence Training program shows you how you can do only 3 workouts a week of 45 minutes each and loose fat while gaining body muscle. The program includes a warm up exercise that you do for 5 minutes followed by strength training of 15-20 minutes and then interval trading of 15-20 minutes as well.

While these workouts are shorter in duration and less frequent, the difficulty level is high. They are designed to make you do as much work as possible in a shorter duration of time, and you’ll feel that you have done some training by the time you complete a session.

A big advantage of the Turbulence Training program is that it does not bore you with repetition. A lot of people start fat loss programs with enthusiasm but stop doing it after a while because they just can do the same thing over and over again. In this program, you will be changing workout routines once a month. You are doing the same exercise only 12 times and this his does not allow your body to adapt itself to the changes which will halt your progress.

The program includes: “Turbulence Training System” in PDF & MP3 format, Dumbbell & Bodyweight Fusion workout manual, Nutrition guide by Chris Mohr, “20-Minute Workouts for the World’s Busiest Dads!”, Total Body Transformation Secrets, Turbulence Training for Mass (Muscle Building).

This workout system does not come with a diet plan and it may be too intense for some people. As you may have noticed this program is not for people who are looking to build some serious muscle. It is oriented more towards the combination of fat loss and muscle gain.

The system just asks for 45 minutes of your time 3 days a week. It has a routine that does not require too much time. So, if you have a busy schedule and can’t find time to loose those gained pounds, then this workout is something that you can do.
